Regional development

The Hämeenlinna region is a 92,000 inhabitant growth-centre and desired living environment that has become one of the 10 best subregions in Finland. The role of the Regional Centre Programme of Häme is to gather all the development resources and allocate them in order to escalate the region’s growth-path and in order to enhance the region’s competitiveness.

Through the Regional Centre Programme there will be several different development projects, such as a pre-survey for new project application concerning the internationalisation of the SMEs, a reseach project for renewal of the lines of businesses and also development projects to support the profiling of each municipality.

The Programme will have five main sectors during the years 2007-2010: development of the lines of business, know-how and operational environment, living and welfare and the renewal of the municipal structure.
